Marisa Christine Medina is a filmmaker, director, screenwriter, producer, and creative educator based in New York. Originally from Los Angeles, she earned her B.A. in Film & Electronic Media from California State University, Long Beach before working as a casting assistant on major feature films in the early 2000s. She later received her MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University, where her award-winning short film Fault Lines received Faculty Honors at the 2014 Columbia Film Festival and premiered at the Austin Film Festival.

Today, Marisa develops narrative and documentary projects that center on authentic human stories, social impact, and underrepresented voices. Alongside her independent filmmaking, she creates branded and digital content, directs promotional videos, teaches filmmaking and improv, and collaborates with artists, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations.

Most recently, Marisa has expanded her work as a producer and director through collaborations with Bergen Countly LGBTQ+ Alliance, helping develop creative programming and digital content while continuing to champion inclusive storytelling and emerging filmmakers.
